strona dotknieta; potracenie
"strona dotknieta" is usually the short defined term for what was explained above; "potracenie" is the term the lawyers I am working with I use for "set-off" because that is the term used in the Polish Civil Code, hence in the 2 sources I refer to below, although the latter of them says: "also: kompensacja", and "Kompendium terminow bankowych" by Robert Patterson uses the term "kompensowanie" ("kompensata"). So, the lawyers and the bankers may prefer different terms for the same "set-off"

compensation or reimbursement, strona, o ktora chodzi
affected party - may be
strona (osoba, organizacja, firma), o ktora chodzi, strona dotknieta przez cos lub czyms (np. strona dotknieta wysoka stopa procentowa, strona podlegajaca wysokiej stopie procentowej, etc. - it depends on the context
kompensata - maybe set-off is a british term - quite frankly I've never heard of that. In U.S. we would either use compensation or reimbursement (of expenses, for example)
