Discussion

Elizabeth Medina (asker) Apr 27, 2008:
hilain vs ilipat vs dalhin It's not easy....at first I was going to translate it as "kaladkarin" but realized it sounded ridiculous. ;)
Leny Vargas Apr 26, 2008:
To drag for the purpose of transferring -- in this case Hilda's suggestion is good.
To drag for the purpose of making another copy/other copies in another folder/directory -- in this case "ilipat" is not appropriate.

agree Ma. Unica Real Encinares : If I may just add, it should be HILAHIN (verbs ending in a vowel must take the suffix -hin)

ilipat

This has something to do with computers. So, I guess it's like dragging the objects (virtual/graphical coins?) into the folder.

'Drag' is equivalent to 'move' (ilipat).

Thanks Ria.
neutral Leny Vargas : But when you drag something, you don't necessarily "transfer" or "move", sometimes you create another copy/other copies of file/s.

neutral P Waters : this is possible but how do you move(ilipat) , you do it by dragging (hilain). Move is the aim you are trying to achieve but the way you do it is to drag across the screen in the case of computers hence 'drag & drop'.
