special chairs for jobs

Based on JUST the question, I would understand it to mean an occupation that makes use of specialized chairs, like a dentist.

My take on it from the USA.

chair (short for chairperson)

It is hard to tell without context.
But chair is sometimes used to designate a presiding officer to avoid charges of both sexism and awkwardness.

Since the 60's chairPERSON has been used instead of chairman because it is sexually discriminatory when applied to a woman with that position.

Good luck.

chairs...

Isn't necessarily an occupation in the sense of paid employment.
For example of the Chair(person) of the Governors (School) is voluntary, as is the Chair of various Councils.

The Chair of the Board (of a company)
Dentist's chair

Gynaecological Chair??? - they ususally use couches/beds!

The Queen has her own kind of Chair (throne?)

Executioner's have their own kind of chair (electric?!)

Name an occupation that has its own kind of chair.

I take this to mean a profession that is known by the type of chair used...like dentists.

Or it could be a profession that has the word chair in it.
Chairman/lady/person isn\'t necessarily a profession.

How about chair maker? A person who makes chairs.

ONLY occupations like pilot, dentist, barber, tennis umpire, lifeguard, monarch, bus driver, etc.

I am only entering this here in support of other suggestions above; one of them should get the points. For my money, as a US English native speaker, there is no doubt about the meaning. The sentence fragment:

"an occupation that has its own kind of chair"

has nothing to do with a "chairperson", "chair maker" or similar, it could ONLY mean occupations like pilot, dentist, barber, tennis umpire, lifeguard, monarch, bus driver, etc.
