French term

came

French to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Software
In the manual for a report building software suite there is a paragraph talking about building "cames". Cam in the physical engineering sense does not seem appropriate. The main sentence whre the word occurs is "En cliquant sur le bouton « Construire une nouvelle came », il est possible de sélectionner un ensemble de lois afin de les assembler dans une nouvelle came ou dans une came existante." Grateful for any suggestions for an appropriate translation.

And the answer is... Came graph. This appears in an English screen grab later in the text. I have no idea what one of those is, nor does Google, it seems.

Thanks for your help and suggestions, everyone.

Software subject. No, report building.

Small question... What is the software about?
Is this some kind of CAD system for hydraulic systems?

camera

A very usual abbreviation for camera. In this context, I think it is linked to "view". As you know, real estate agents are using cameras to advertise property for sale.
