French term

portée

French to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering Steel structure
This is from the same passage as my previous question. It is the description of the steel structure of an airport terminal. I somehow don't thing "span" is the right term here. Also, I am puzzled by the units: "ml"

What leads you to believe that "span" is not correct?
"ml" here indicates "mètres linéaires", as has been discussed on KudoZ several times before (although, admittedly, finding two-letter abbreviations in the archives is almost impossible).

agree Simon Mountifield : Yes, the most logical solution. Agree with your "ml" - managed to find an example on proz: proz.com/kudoz/french_to_english/engineering_general/1743950-facturation_au_ml_hors_tout.html

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Once I understood what "trame" was in this context, then "span" became the obvious answer here. Thanks to everyone."
