"Nous envisageons l’installation de toits intégrés, permettant également de se débarrasser des éverites amiantées".
Context= solar panel installation
I found tôle ondulée grise en éverite (fibro ciment) and can't find the exact technical term for these...
asbestos-covered roofing? There must be a more specific term.

asbestos roofing panels
I don't think there is any specific term as there were so many different sorts in use. Corrugated, flat, mixed with other substances. Asbestos roofing panels covers a multitude of sins.

Comment: "I agree with both you & Tony. Tony's point about the slates vs panels caution is good. Thanks for everyone's clarification on this one!"

asbestos-cement slates
When 'éverites' is used in the plural like this, it sometimes (often?) refers to the individual 'slates', hung in diamond-fashion, that were very popular at one period in France.
Depends of course on the context, but I'd be wary before committing myself too specifically!

Note from asker:
Hello Tony, Thank you for your answer and 'caution' note on the éverites. How about roofing period? Please be careful if your house is covered w/asbestos! Thanks for your great insight. |

Bashiqa
: 'Slates' would indicate 'flat'. They may be corrugated, square, diamond or even scallopped.

Sure, bu they may not be 'panels' either; that's why I advocated caution.

katyab10
: everite usually refers to the flat ones not the corrugated ones

But Katya, that's just what I'm saying — so I don't quite see what you're disagreeing with?

: In my opinion, Everite tiles are flat. This will at least level the balance ;-) And yes, they were also called "tuiles amiante-ciment". Everite was just a trademark.

asbestos-based roof slates
I work as an estate agent and know exactly what they are. They are similar to normal slates but made of a composite including asbestos
