French to English Other Cosmetics, Beauty brushes (for makeup)
This is about a collection of makeup brushes. The sentence below describes the brushes. I know that "sortie" is defined as the "Longueur des poils depuis leur extrémité jusqu’à la virole", but does anyone know the term in AE?

Leurs manches en bois noble, un wengé sombre, valorisent des fibres performantes serties d'une virole gun metal. Le manche, la virole, ***la sortie***, la forme de la touffe, la nature de la fibre, sont autant de paramètres sur lesquels XXX a longuement réfléchi pour aboutir à une technicité sans précédent.

Thanks to all for your answers and agreement. In the end, the client found "length out". At first I was a bit suspicious but in the end it is what I used. Otherwise, I think bristle/fiber/hair length are all perfectly acceptable alternatives, in that order. Thanks again.

bristle length

IMO it is more common to refer to the bristles of a brush rather than the hairs
