dissimilar metals Like Barbara, my instinctive reaction was that they were referring to 'insulation' (in the electrical sense) between dissimilar metals (presumably to avoid the risk of galvanic action).

diss...? I agree that the original is not clear. What we have is grommets with a fire-resistant screen and neoprene washers. The text seems to be making the rather obvious statement that the (thermal?) insulating properties of neoprene are not the same as those of metal/s.

Is it possible that the intended meaning/spelling is that of "disassemblable", ie capable of disassembly such that the insulating neoprene parts are easily detachable from the metal parts? Clarification from client required, I think.

Error in the original text? I suggest that this doesn't make sense, but would if re-written as:
"afin d'assurer une isolation des métaux dissemblables (si requis)".
