Thanks I'll wait a while before I close the question. In the next sentence, can I just say "futures and options", as presumably it's referring to both:

"Analyser les fondements et la portée des stratégies de couverture fondées sur l'utilisation des marchés à terme."

The problem with specialising in higher education is that you have to translate things for all other fields as well, depending on the course or the type of institution!

disagree rkillings : The generic term is "forward markets". Futures are, by accepted definition, exchange-traded, but currency forwards (FRAs) are not.

(financial) derivates markets

It encompasses futures, options, forwards -contracts in this sense,all having in common (among others) a fixed future deadline when your right or obligation to sell or buy can or must be exercised
