I think recherche here must go with what this company or person does...so, indeed, it is not research but a search for returns..the lingo is: looks for short term opportunities...or seeks out ..not research...

: sorry, but in my French recherche sur as opposed to recherche de means research , not to seek out better returns..Research on the investment horizon of a short -term performance better than that of a money market investment etc... is the meaning here
