I'm finding two possible definitions for this term. I'm torn between "back-up portfolio" and "matching portfolio". It's being used in a mutual fund management strategy.

This is commonly just called a 'matched book' in professional financial jargon. See Investopedia 'matched book' at investopedia.com/terms/m/matchedbook.asp. Also confirmed in Ménard's Dictionnaire de la Comptabilité et de la Gestion financère.
I find the term 'matched portfolio' on google also, but I've always heard 'matched book' working in capital markets. It's the term that Investopedia.com and the dictionary use.
