French term

En l'état

French to English Law/Patents
The sentence reads as follows:

"En l'état, le Tribunal de céans laissera la question ouverte et n'ordonnera pas d'instruction sur les faits qui sont à la base de la demande."

I've searched all over the place for "en l'état" as a set phrase but to no avail.

TIA!

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks, Parrot - I did do a KudoZ search, but I haven't been to the ProZ site in a while - have they split searches? I see that you can now search glossaries or KudoZ... that means double the time :-( BTW, check my additional note for "chargé", you'll learn something interesting!"
