French term

bridage à vide

French to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering
"faire au préalable un bridage à vide"

I presumed that bridage = clamping, but if that is the case, what on earth could a bridage à vide be?

This is taken from the manual for a machine "d'insertion sécheur".
Proposed translations (English)
4 +3 vacuum clamping

Yes, well, that does help, and clearly blows my idea right out of the water!
Non-ProZ.com Aug 8, 2005:
I should add, the manual also uses the term "dbridage" as in "Faire un dbridage latral."
