OK, I CAN tell a bulldozer from an excavator! Though I cannot say whether "pelleteuse" has any special meaning in French, in this context, I'm sure "excavator", "shovel", "digger", etc. does NOT in English.
Unfortunately the rest of the text gives no indication of WHY the person gets this nickname. But going on the strength of what little we have - "côté professionnel ... il a pas de chichi d'artiste "j'ai pas d'inspiration gnagnagna", non, poum, il sait où il va il sait ce qu'il veut, … c'est une machine, ... sa discipline, sa maturité et sa façon d'amener les choses" - I'd say "bulldozer" conveys the message: he knows what he wants, he knows how to get it, he doesn't fluff around and goes for it, gets results, nothing will stop him.

Maybe implying that he's prepared to dig around for advice or but his back into his music? However, judging fropm the text "sponge" might be a more appropriate term (soaking up the advice) - even though it departs from the translation

le plus intéressant dans le fait de travailler avec XXX, c'est sa discipline, sa maturité et sa façon d'amener les choses, pour son âge c'est vraiment étonnant pour moi.
BTW, why would discipline and maturity be off limits to rappers?
