Can't find an official translation, but my guess is that it simply means "no frills" or pretty basic sites (i.e., those below 3-star rating). Unless it's something more specific...?

I reckon they're talking about plots that don't have mobile homes or chalets on them, ie people prefer renting accommodation on a campsite rather than taking their tent
