German to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Software system hierarchy
I'm translating a document about a new computer system (linked to SAP) that is being introduced into a major automotive group. I have many references to Hut-however I have to be careful about confidentiality on this one.

The system hierarchy has Hutknoten, Fahrzeugspezifishe Knoten, Gruppenknoten and Plattformknoten. The Hutknoten are at the top of the hierarchy.

The system itself is sometimes referred to as a Plattform- und Hutsystem.

Can anyone help with this little context - don't really feel able to give much more.

You'll have to Google this together with SAP to see if this makes any sense - no SAP expert myself.

This is a common expression in networks.
