German term

Vorleitrad

German to English Tech/Engineering Engineering: Industrial
In an axial fan, before the "Laufrad" (impeller or rotor?) comes this "Vorleitrad" and afterwards comes a "Nachleitrad". I have seen these referred to as "stators" but can we say pre-stator and post-stator? I have also seen "Vorleitrad translated as "IGV" (inlet guide vanes) but surely these are the "Leitschaufel" - the vanes or blades ON the "Vorleitrad"...Any help to confirm what this word should be in the context of an axial or tunnel ventilation fan greatly appreciated!

inlet guide vane

Vorleitrad=inlet guide vane = a non rotating 'wheel'
Nachleitrad=outlet guide vane = a non rotating 'wheel'
both steering the air in desired directions
If your 'Rad' rotates it could be called a '(rotating) inducer' for 'Vorleitrad' and '(rotating) deducer' for 'Nachleitrad'
The word 'stator' can also be used, with no distinction between 'Vor-' and 'Nach-'

If you could provide sentences we could work it out for sure.
