melting temperature

I understand as follows:

fusion temperatur could mean high temperature and in this case there is a low temperature.

ice melting temperature

The observed ice melting temperatures were low (approximately −10 °C for non-sugar gel), because of the non-equilibrium state produced by rapid cooling (20 °C/min) and the large sample size.

Does the context refer to:
the temperature of the melting ice
or
the temperature which causes ice to melt?

P.S. sometimes EU translations are not always 100% accurate...like the rest of us...they're not perfect. ;-)
