immer feste weg

This phrase comes from a 19th-century letter, written by an elderly German immigrant in the U.S. to her brother. She's apparently informing him that she is still in good health: "Gesund bin ich immer feste weg, bis zu dieser Stunde. Diese große Gnadenwohltat vom himmlischen Vater ist das größte u. reichste wo Gott meine stille Freude beglückt..." I have found the phrase "immer feste weg" in some German folksongs, but have yet to find a definitive translation!
