I am translating text from Slovak/German to English and want to check whether hniezda kremeňa / Quarznest means "quartz nest" or something else. I am not sure because, even though the machine translator says "quartz nest", there are no such references on Google or in the few geology notebooks I have. Could anyone supply the proper geological term?

| I actually found your answer helpful and will try to award points. In the end I used "pocket", which was submitted on the Slovak discussion group. The situation is I am translating both German and Slovak to English, which is why this question appeared on the German and Slovak discussion group. It appears "cluster" applies to quartz formations. |
| The term appears to be "quartz pocket". The translator at the Slovak site gave me references and I was able to cross-check even to German. And yes, that was my first thought, too. The translation is challenging because there was a Slovak original, summarized in German, and both had to go to English. |

If the text was written in Slovak and translated into German, the German may not be reliable. It gets very few Google hits, and most of them date from the early 20th century. The Slovak gets a lot more hits.
