German term

macht's vor

German to English Marketing Idioms / Maxims / Sayings
From the same document (article on a certain company's new advertising strategy):

Der ***ische Industrieriese und ***-Konkurrent *** macht´s vor: Mit einer weltweiten Kampagne flankiert das Unternehmen seine neue Corporate Identity.

Took out any clues as to the company's identity, even its country of origin would give it away!

...gets serious: a global campaign will enhance [promote/ develop/ boost] its new corporate identity

...puts square pegs in square holes by launching a global campaign to enhance its new corporate identity

...shows the way

...takes the lead
Peer comment(s):

agree Ulrike Kraemer : I would probably use "shows the way", but I do like the square pegs... ;-)

agree Textklick : I agree with LittleBalu on 'shows the way'. Certainly not 'square holes', which is to do with employees, rather than companies.
