German term

geldwerter Datenschatz

German to English Bus/Financial IT (Information Technology)
Data is money! Eines ist ganz klar: Datensicherheit ist für den geldwerten Datenschatz eines Unternehmens äußerst wichtig.

The above is given for the purpose of context. I think (hope?) that there may be a typo here, i.e. it should read Datenschutz instead of Datenschatz. I don't really understand what "geldwerten Datenschatz" means: valuable treasure of data? I can't really use "valuable treasure of data in terms of money" or "cash valuable treasure of data". Could there indeed be a typo here? Should it really read "geldwerten Datenschutz"? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

financially valuable data resource

I don't think it's a typo. I would say it means the data resource that is of financial value to the company

agree DC Josephs : it's a "hype-o", not a typo

agree Donald Scott Alexander : I agree. You might also say "resources" (plural) if you wanted: "a company's financially valuable data resources." Also, I don't think "financially" is redundant here, given the amount of "hype" in the source text.

valuable data storehouse

valuable normally implies financial value so 'financial' is not required
