German term

Freizügigkeitskonto

German to English Law/Patents Swiss divorce papers
"Die Ehefrau hat bei der Servisa Freizügigkeitsstiftung ein Freizügigkeitskonto eröffnet."

I'm pretty sure this is a retirement fund but I just wanted to make sure...Any Swiss experts out there?

Thanks in advance for any help!

portable (not transportable) retirement account

it's called in the US, actually here it's a portable 401k. Have one myself, (too little to live, too much to die).

yes, it is a retirement fund

one that can be transferred from one employer to the next, should a job change take place.

in other words, the accumulated savings of a person in pension plan A with company X can be transferred to and will be accepted by plan B with company Y if the person changes the job. This is not necessarely the case with all pension plans, only those \"liberal\" ones i.e. socalled Freizügigkeitskassen. I guess the best translation might be something like
a TRANSFERABLE PENSION PLAN
