: As you say, depends on context (see my comment sent to asker). A lot of the Google hits for "location marketing" are translations appearing on .de, .at, .ch sites.

True. To my mind, 'site marketing' is a bit more specific, whereas 'location marketing' would apply more to whole cities or regions - although I don't think this distinction is always made by those using either term.

would go over better in the US, though I'd prefer Local Site Promotion, if the intent is to attract new business to a specific area
