Offsetdaten und -Proof bei einer Tiefdruckschaltung

German to English Tech/Engineering Printing & Publishing Tiefdruck
Hello again! Still working on the translation of the technical requirements for getting your ads printed in a German magazine. The above is from the following sentence: "Das Reklamationsrecht erlischt bei Datenfehlern und bei Farbraumdifferenzen (z.B. Offsetdaten und -Proof bei einer Tiefdruckschaltung)." Now, I think I understand what this means: if you want your ad printend in the intaglio section of the magazine, but you send data and proof for offset, your ad won't be printed. I just don't know what to do with "Tiefdruckschaltung" in English.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

offset files and proofs for ads booked as intaglio

...not sure exactly how you would want to word this, but I believe 'Schaltung' here refers to booking ad space

On re-reading your question, I think you basically answered it yourself. You could say 'offset files and proofs supplied for ads to be printed in an intaglio process' or 'offset files and proofs supplied for intaglio printing'

Julia, Ken is correct to point out that the text doesn't imply they won't print the add, just that customers forfeit the right to complain (and ask for money back) if they submit the wrong kinds of files.

agree Ken Cox : but (for the benefit of the asker) they don't say they won't print the advert, just that in this case the client has no right to complain if the the colours don't match the expectations

That's an important point!
