German term

Warenfenster

German to English Tech/Engineering Transport / Transportation / Shipping warehouses
A list with characteristic data for storage systems (high bay warehouses)

"1 Regalbediengerät für Ladungsträger; 396 Ladungsträger für je 2 *Warenfenster*"

It is only a list, no images, and the term appears only once, so I cannot give any more context.

I have not been able to find much about this at all. Any help appreciated :-)

Discussion

hazmatgerman (X) Mar 12, 2011:
Think about it as a goods slot.
Coqueiro Mar 8, 2011:
positions for pallets perhaps
Helen Shiner Mar 8, 2011:
@ Kerstin Isn't this though about the stock, the Warenfenster, that is housed there and moved by these cranes?
Kerstin Green (asker) Mar 8, 2011:
@ Helen No, this is definitely about warehouses in an industrial context. The 'Regalbediengeräte' are stacker cranes, by the way.
Helen Shiner Mar 8, 2011:
A possibility I wonder whether this simply means shop windows, i.e. windows for shop/store fronts? The stores themselves are Warenhäuser.

maximum (workpiece) size

Found this answer at LEO (see link below). Warenfenster refers to the maximum size that any one dimension (height, width, depth) of a workpiece may have...

agree Helen Shiner : I think this is the most likely explanation. A sort of window of opportunity!
