visual realm/visual imagery
Bildwelt is right up there with Bildsprache as one of the hardest concepts to translate into English IMO. Sometimes in the art world, an artist's Bildwelt is described as his/her visual realm or visual imagery. I think it's a bit more than just visuals or graphics. It implies a whole body or particular selection of visuals/graphics to express a distinctive message

pictorial world
Reading through much text I found that "Bildwelt" just wasn't translated in the English text. Often "image" was used but didn't quite describe the feel for the word which encompases much more.
Just one text, alas translated from the German, used the above word.

The visual world
...is what "Bildwelt" is generally called (there is even a thing called "visual literacy", i.e. the ability to read images, believe it or not).
