Italian term

società di capitale

Italian to English Bus/Financial Investment / Securities
this is a document from Camera di Commercio

and the heading is:
VISURA ORDINARIA SOCIETA' DI CAPITALE

it's probably very simple, but I don't know how to translate it.

Italian term (edited): SOCIETA' DI CAPITALE
Selected

COMPANY/CORPORATION

If the target is the American English, which is most likely, then the translation is 'corporation', otherwise it would be 'company. You cannot 100% put 'Limited Company' in this case, unless later in the document it is stated that it is a 'società a responsabilità limitata'.

Basically, the generic terms for 'società di capitale' are 'company (BE)/corporation (AE)' as opposed to 'partnership' which is a 'società di persone'.

Business corporation / Company limited by shares / Joint stock company

Non basta dire corporation, perché "Corporations may also be formed for local government (municipal corporation), political, religious, and charitable purposes (not-for-profit corporation), or for government programs (government-owned corporation). As a generic legal term, 'corporation' means any group of persons with a legal personality."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporation

In addition to its legal personality, the modern business corporation has at least three other legal characteristics: (i) transferable shares (shareholders can change without affecting its status as a legal entity), (ii) perpetual succession capacity (its possible continued existence despite shareholders' death or withdrawal), (iii) and limited liability (including, but not limited to).

neutral Leonarda Coviello : It is not that simple or, better, so straight forward an answer. Since the asker has got the 'Camera di commercio' document in her hands, she can check therein what kind of 'società di capitali' is about.
