Can be ten of many kinds of items, often rules such as the 10 Commandments which are a "decalogue".

list of ten items

No context? Without that it is hard to know if this would work, but I recently translated it as a "list of ten items" (perfectly suitable to the context I had). "Decalogue" is sometimes used loosely in English, but its specific meaning: a basic set of rules carrying binding authority (as the Ten Commandments found in Exod. 20: 2-17 and Deut. 5: 6-21 which in the biblical account were given by God to Moses on Mount Sinai)

that's okay, Henry :-) fwiw decalogue is a calque & I'd use it only if the author were stretching for a Biblical metaphor (p.e., the "10 commandments of criminal justice") .
