Y se dirá, sonriéndome: "Es lo poco que hace que este hombre iba al centro del sol cada mañana con un puñado de soldados de plomo. Es lo poco que hace que en el centro del sol, cada mañana, su corazón era un puñado de soldados de plomo entre gallos"

Qué clase de texto literario? Es conocido? Quién es el autor? De qué país es? Por qué está mal escrito? Quizás si contás de qué trata el texto y qué es lo que quiere decir podríamos darte una mano y acertar con la traducción, así es muy difícil.

Podrías decir de qué se trata este fragmento? Pregunto porque está mal redactado y usa los tiempos de verbo de manera incorrecta: por ejemplo iba en "es lo poco que hace que este hombre iba..." y "era" en la siguiente frase. No tiene sentido! Podrías dar más contexto?

because the past tense is used (iba, era) I understand "Es lo poco que hace que" as "desde hace poco" (a short while ago)

agree Sebastian Wasserzug : It is indeed very ambiguous, but I take it in this sense too, only much stronger: “Just a little while ago” or something a lot more colloquial actually (almost ungrammatical/wrong but that people say) that I cannot/could think of…
