vill bara tillägga att jag är väl medveten om att primer och base coat är vanligast, och att någon gärna får upplysa mig om skillnaden... är det så att primer används på t.ex. kakel och andra glatta ytor, så att nästa färglager kan få bättre fäste? de verkar vara synonomer sådär vid en första anblick, men jag är ingen måleriexpert :o)
flat coat är tydligen något vanligare än ground coat, btw

Primer
The first coat of paint to be applied to any surface; the basis or foundation of the entire paint system.
Another term is ground coat - described as an opaque coat of paint over which it is intended to apply a further coating or treatment ... e.g. a glaze or scumble (semi-transparent) coat in broken colour effects.
I would choose PRIMER on first impulse, but looked it up to see what the official difference was. Both terms are quite common.
Sorry I can't write Swedish - but my dictionary is in English anyway.

Primer is only used on surfaces that need to be primed.

: agree about the primer part, although it IS in fact USED as a synonym for base coat, vilket är betydligt vanligare än undercoat (kolla Google)

I don't know how many painters use google. I run a camp for itinerant tradesmen, and according to all the painters here the first coat is the undercoat unless the surface is in need of a primer.
