Swedish to English Marketing Other herbal snuff
A description of the ingredients in a herbal snuff (snus). It's for marketing purposes, so I need a general phrase that isn't country specific or off-puttingly clinical sounding. Any ideas? (I've been considering dropping it entirely if the client approves).

I'm going to close without grading - both answers are correct translations of the original word, but don't fit in the context. (I don't feel I can give points to one answer and not the other).

Sorry... refering TO Livsmedelsverket...
Non-ProZ.com Feb 23, 2005:
I assume they're refering Livsmedelsverket, but I agree that they don't really mean you consume it. It's not food, and that's what's giving me the problem with finding a way of translating it. (I tried a bit myself today for experimental purposes and am no closer to understanding the delights of snus, whether tobacco or herbal)!

Approved by whom? It sounds like it's "fit for human consumption", but that's hardly what they mean...?

approved as food item

seems to be the general idea here. It is not a prescription drug or such but a generally approved product in the food line
