SITE LOCALIZER
I have a glued TTX from several inx files. Is it possible to print out just the translated text (or source text and translated text) without all the tags etc.?
It would be very useful for first (technical) reading of the documents. I would rather not input all of this into InDesign files, because if there are significant changes to terminology, changing it all in one big ttx is much more convenient...

Should work.

I had hoped for a simpler solution, considering that the file is xml, it should be enough to prepare the output template and automate it completely...
Altova has solutions which seem to do the job, but they are pretty expensive. Maybe I will fit in the trial period, or find a cheaper (or free solution)...

No, no, no! At least if you're running Trados 2006 with the latest patch, there is a much simpler and neater solution!
Trados now has a fantastic filter, that saved us so much time when working with INX files and other tag formats. Yet, almost nobody knows about this secret gem!
This is the trick, taken from the top of my head:
In TagEditor, go to Tools>TagEditor Plugins.
Select TradosTag [something, it's at the bottom of the list], click on Properties.
Select TableView.
Open your TTX and click the billingual preview tab.
Now IE opens with your document in a neat table format!
Make sure to allow activeX and other safety options in IE to display correctly!
Now the custom buttons works. If you click on "No tags" all tags will magically disappear!
You can even print a neat coloured PDF if you have Acrobat installed. Mark the content on the page, right-click and select "Print selection as PDF". (Not all versions of Acrobat have this feature, but at least 7.0 Pro does).
A huge timesaver, both for internal proofreading and for customer review!

I have tried the preview, of course, but I missed the plug-in bit. With this the output is much, much more workable...
