كلمة "داعي" هنا لا تشير إلى إنسان يدعو، وإنما بمعنى "دافع" أو "محرّض" مثلاً
أعجبني شرح الزميل عبد المنعم، ولكن أحب أن أوضح بأنه على الرغم من وجود كلمة "هوى" في القاموس للإشارة إلى رغبة قد تكون صالحة وبريئة إلا أن الكلمة قلّما تستخدم إيجابياً في الكتابات الدينية، الإسلامية والمسيحية على السواء. هذا مثال من الرابط أدناه
ويظل العبد بين منازعة داعى الهوى مع داعى الدين طوال حياته فإذا غلب داعى الدين وذلك بدوام الصبر فهؤلاء هم الصديقون
وإذا غلب داعى الهوى سقط بالكلية داعى الدين وهؤلاء هم ( الغافلون ) وصاحب هذه الحالة يكون أسير شهواته وتتعذر عليه التوبة .
كلمة "هوى" ترد مثلاً في العهد الجديد في كولوسي 3: 5، 6
فَأَمِيتُوا ... الْهَوَى، الشَّهْوَةَ الرَّدِيَّةَ، الطَّمَعَ الَّذِي هُوَ عِبَادَةُ الأَوْثَانِ، الأُمُورَ الَّتِي مِنْ أَجْلِهَا يَأْتِي غَضَبُ اللهِ عَلَى أَبْنَاءِ الْمَعْصِيَةِ"
وقد ترجمت بهذه الكلمات في ترجمات إنكليزية متعددة

أظن أنه يوجد خطأ في نهاية النص المذكور، والصواب هو لم يفعل أحد بأحد سوءاً إلا زالت نعمته

Fear God (Allah) and do not follow your every desire


Explanation:
I was going to say "do not follow your desires", but I thought , sometimes it is good to pursue your desire. So, I added "every", to give the meaning that one should not "always" follow his\her desire without control, this control, in our case, is the fear of God that prevents us from abandoning some evil desires we may have.

I guess this is (partially) the meaning intended here.
