Je pense qu'ici, "left" se rapporte au fait que le chirurgien a laissé une partie de la tumeur pour ne pas enlever une trop grande partie du cerveau normal. En effet. il s'agit d'une tumeur bénigne (un astrocytome pilocytique) à croissance lente d'après une autre question de Lynelle). Sinon, le mot "left" serait redondant avec le mot "residual".
