weiterverrechen

German to English Bus/Financial SAP Accounting / Internal Orders Accounting
In a SAP training manual: "Bei der Abrechnung werden die auf einem betriebswirtschaftlichen Objekt angefallenen Plan- oder Istkosten ganz oder teilweise an einen oder mehrere Empfänger weiterverrechnet."

Thanks very much!

Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Sep 29, 2002:
debit &/o credit? Any opinions on Klaus'suggestion, which appears interesting in the absence of any specific otherwise. Can it be construed to mean and/or debit/credit?

Best,

Harold

charged to the account of

verrechnen is often used to talk about charging something to/against someone's account; here, the costs will be charged to the account of the customers/"recipients". I don't think it's necessary to add the "weiter".

trasmitted or transferred

to transmit costs or to transfer them
Peer comment(s):

agree Melissa Field : IMO could mean transferred or allocated, because I'm guessing that it is not the actual accounting transaction that is being referenced, but rather the concept of cost allocation to the source.

debited and/or credited

...will be fully or partially credited and/or debited to one or several recipients
Peer comment(s):

neutral Kaiya J. Diannen : verrechnet can have the effect of "balanced against [the account] and then credited/debited accordingly", but in this case, you wouldn't "credit" costs, would you? and normally, a pre-arranged fee/price is debited, not costs
