Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): robin25

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Agree with Ingrid! I was just going to suggest "demand potential" myself and then read the entry :)
Ingrid Moore Aug 2, 2009:
Nachfragepotenzial I would go for "DEMAND POTENTIAL"; "HUGE DEMAND POTENTIAL IN RURAL MARKET" To tap the growing potential of the oral care market in rural India, where the penetration level is just 27 percent, market leaders like Colgate, Hindustan Lever Ltd (HLL) and Dabur are making all efforts for dominance. Colgate, whose monopoly in urban India is being threatened by HLL, has the chance to dominate the rural market with its principal brand, Colgate Dental Cream, as it is cheaper than HLL's Close-Up. The rural market is expected to boost Colgate's volumes and improve its overall revenue growth. (gsh)

Sorry, my sample sentence was rubbish. Here's another one:

Um die Nachfragepotenziale für Kultur- und Bildungsreisen noch exakter zu erfassen, wurde im Rahmen der Untersuchung folgende Frage gestellt: „Es gibt viele Arten, seinen Urlaub zu verbringen. An welchen Urlaubsarten haben Sie persönlich in den nächsten drei Jahren Interesse?“
Armorel Young Aug 2, 2009:
Context please Can we know a bit more about the document and the immedetiately surrounding text, please? Is it clear what the 10% is 10% of? I don't see any evidence from the sentence quoted that Nachfrage relates to "repeat" customers (since Nachfrage is normally just demand pure and simple) - are there any clues in the text that this might be the case?

potential demand

Nachfrage is seen in a number of collactions that refer to "demand" i.e.

"Nachfrage nach Arbeit" (demand for labor); Nachfragerückgang (fall in demand); Nachfragesteuerung (demand management); Nachfrageprognose (demand forecast), etc...

"Potential demand for organized study trips (educational trips, study tours, whatever fits the context) comes to 10%" is at least a meaningful sentence. :-)

The question remains: "10% of what?".
Example sentence:

Potential demand for organized study trips...

likelihood of repeat customers

There is a 10% likelihood that participants in student trips will become repeat customers.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Steffen Walter : No indication of "repeat" customers in the (scarce) source context.

Thanks for the correction, but I won't be offended if you put "disagree"! With the actual sentence now provided, this is quite clearly wrong!
