I am a little bit frustrated in how little I am "on top" of my work. Even though things haven't really gone wrong at all this semester, I have the feeling that things are just very unorganized, as I seem to be juggling many different things in the air. When will this Vince-craziness stop!? When will I get back on track?

agree Becky Spangle : Yes, this is what "on top of" means, to not get behind...

I keep on top of my work".
