Could be. More context would be needed to determine if 'painting up the room' is a metaphor for 'messing up her life.'

: I would agree but in my opinion waster context is needed. What about "had her womb TOOK away"?- it should be "TAKEN" away, so probably also the last sentence contains smth that we can`t catch precisely...
