same braod context as previous question.
i can't find a specific word for pupa. "wound" just doesn´t do it for me. do i have to specify 'scratch', 'spot', 'bite', 'bruise', 'rash' etc
at under 3 years and limited exposure to english, i think he is already at the limit of his capacity for new input...
thanks again!!!

I've hurt my...
Again, I have exactly the same problem, and find myself saying "Have you got a pupa? I've come to the conclusions that we'd say "I've hurt my (finger)" or "(My finger) hurts"

(a) boo-boo
In baby talk that would be a "boo-boo".
I found this reference that might be of help for further questions:
boo-boo n. 1. bruise, slight lesion to the skin,
2. accident

wow! I had no idea it's the same in India. I forgot to specify in my answer that's how we'd say it here in the U.S. I'm sure there're varieties in other English-speaking countries. thank you :o)

Hurt, hit...
"Me hice pupa, mamá", dice el niño cuando se lastimó, por cualquier razón. (Se pagó, se cortó, se arañó, lo picó un mosquito... no importa)
No es exactamente "au, ouch", como dice Janfri... no es una onomatopeya, según yo, pero cómo decirlo en inglés, ahí sí que no sé.

hurted
You probably won't want to be using this one, but since three-year-olds usually say "I've hurted my finger (or knee, or self, or whatever)", I find I end up saying "Have you hurted yourself?"
Peer comment(s):

María Teresa Taylor Oliver
: Perdón, Maisar, pero el past tense y el past participle de HURT es HURT, no lleva ED.
