The client gives the following explanation for the term. I'd like to find the current "technical" term used in the trial studies field.

"In this trial randomized patients get their treatment only at the beginning of the study. If it turns out that (after the initial doses have been applied) the study medication does not work (and study medication can be either placebo or the compound that is tested) the Investigator can decide that they will get additional doses of the compound (and no placebo this time). That is then called the 'escape therapy'. The patients continue in this trial and will have their study visits (including imaging) as originally scheduled, but are on 'escape therapy' in contrast to the regular study treatment (that is blinded to both the Investigator and patient).So, the only meaning of this paragraph is to say that the schedule does not change if the patient 'enters escape' (did receive escape medication). It's of interest for the analysis only because the Investigator and patient are not blinded anymore."
