Get them before they get you

It's not quite the opposite, but a funny twist on the saying "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you".

As the Egyptian saying goes: Have them for breakfast before they have you for lunch!

agree JaneTranslates : Actually, it is pretty much the opposite. The original says to watch out for others; the parody says to watch out for yourself!//True, but the emphasis is on the attitude! Kudos and KudoZ to you.

Thanks. I think it's not quite the opposite because the parody introduces an element of time "do this before they do that" while the original saying merely says how you should behave "treat other AS you would like them to treat you".

Opposite. It's a parody

There is a shorter version: "Do others, or they'll do you", which makes it a bit more obvious, but they both mean the same thing.

serf chose what came first, sorry :( and the charms of Egypt!

Thank you. And while we're on the subject of James Bond film titles, also "You Only Live Twice".
agree JaneTranslates : Sorry, Jack, I did mean to give you and Nesrin each an agree, but the comment I sent you was supposed to go to her. Don't know how serf's going to choose between two good answers! Cheers.
