I recently wanted to send invoice data from Word into an Excel sales ledger sheet. Getting Word and Excel to work together turned out to be more complicated than expected, mainly because Office kept asking for permissions.

I decided to try a different approach: instead of opening Excel, I used a VBA macro to update the Excel file directly. With some help from my friend, I managed to create a solution that does just that.
