Cannot Clean: a problem aligning document

Hi,

I have an error message like below.



CLEANUP ERRORS

================================================================

There was a problem aligning document.




I even tried to save the translation as word but
couldn't because "an error occurred while saving".

Please advice.

I worked on this project for a long time and really need to
clean the file.

What kind of file was the source, what is your version of Wordfast, Word and operating system.
Did you use the quick cleanup function or the regular one?

I should've thought about sharing those info.

Source language: English
Target language: Japanese

Wordfast: Wordfast Professional 2.2.4

Word: Microsoft Word 2010

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate

Cleanup function: I think I used regular function.
I did not even know there was two functions.
I followed the procedure below.

PM perspective -> Clearnup -> Choose file -> Update TM Options (Choose TM) -> Click Cleanup.

I can't solve the problem, its happened to me a couple of times and the only thing that seemed to work as to change the name of the txml file (so you have a backup) and create a new one, as everything will be in your tm all you have to do is click the button for automatic translation, that should refill your txml and then you can try to reconstruct again.

If you joined any segments the process will stop because it won't find a 100% match and you will have to rejoin the segments, so if you joined a lot of segments for any reason this can be a tedious process.

Sorry just saw your next post and noticed you tried to clean up through the PM perspective, son't know why you did that, to save your translated file you have to be in the TXML editor perspective, click on File and the click on Save Translated File

Thanks for your help.

I will try what you suggested.

I did save the file by

File -> Save Translated file

But did not work either.

I usually use PM perspective to get a translated file.
What's wrong with the procedure?

Is it not a normal way to get a translated file?
Do you guys just "save the translated file" function under "File"?

Please advice.

Dear Hiro,

Do you really mean that you have WFP 2.2.4? If so, it is an outdated version. Please download and install the latest version of Wordfast Professional available at:
http://www.wordfast.com/store_download.html

After that, please download and install also the Hotfix at the same page as having JA rather than JA-JP could cause a problem in some version(s).

Yes, that is enough for saving the target file.

Thank you for letting me know about the upgrade.

I actually hit the Wordfast Updates under Help when I first recieved the error message,
but it did not show anything other than dictionaries (additional dictionaries).


My translation project was safely saved as I followed the procedure mentioned by Alex.
