If the sense is ‘compatibility’ and this is the article in question:

Matthew, it is not necessary to make a gesture of 'declining' answers. Simply pick the one you want to award the points to. By definition, all others are 'declined'. By taking the trouble to state that you 'decline' an answer (Reason: 'out of office'??) you are delivering an unnecessary slap in the face. You are not the only peer on this site to be sensitive to the comments and reactions of others.

"And perhaps you should let my honorable peer Cilian (know) that there is no place for sarcasm on this site." Might I respectfully request that you deliver your own messages. Thank you.

'In perfect harmony'. Yes, that's the 'real thing'. Thanks, Cilian.

Comment: "I can't wait the required 24 hrs as I will be out of the office tomorrow. I decided on Teresa's suggestion. And by the way, I'd like to thank Cilian; sarcasm is always helpful!"
Discussion
As far as why I declined, I simply wanted to make the suggester (and site) aware that I couldn't wait the normal 24 period since I will be leaving town.
I certainly didn't intend to slap anyone in the face. And perhaps you should let my honorable peer Cilian that there is no place for sarcasm on this site. Another member simply asked me for more context and I provided it. If we are indeed an online community, then perhaps we should like kind neighbors rather than bitter parents.
