Hi there - does anyone know the correct term for this? Here's the context (from company statutes).
"Titre V : Organe de révision
Article 27
L’assemblée générale désigne un ou plusieurs réviseurs, et éventuellement des réviseurs suppléants, nommés pour un an et rééligibles; la fonction de réviseur peut être exercée par une société fiduciaire ou un syndicat de révision."
All suggestions much appreciated. Auditing Body crops up elsewhere in the text but I *think* this is more the sense of a syndicate (however, I didn't know if there was a specific term for this, other than simply saying "Auditing Syndicate").
Thanks :-)

There are plenty of hits for "syndicat de révision" in Swiss jurisdictions.
I would say that this is definitely nothing to do with trade unions....

I have a problem with Acrobat at the moment so I can't open any of the Swiss hits, but if you google "syndicat de révision" i.e. with quotes, you should come up with them too. You may find a clue.

revising trade union
I don't think you can use "auditing" as an attribute to "trade union" but "revising" sounds more acceptible, I think.

rkillings
: Nothing to do with either, really. They don't "revise" per se, and they don't constitute what we would recognize as a trade union.

syndicate of auditors
There isn't really an exact institutional equivalent outside of Switzerland, so stick with at least one of the cognate words. Might as well say "fiduciary company" for the same reason: anywhere else, it would be called an auditing firm.
The English word to avoid is of course "revision". The sense here is more "review".
