bureau de promotion

French to English Social Sciences Education / Pedagogy University student body
This appears on a cv. The student was 'Membre du bureau de promotion de l’établissement notamment sur le salon de l’étudiant, des grandes écoles'. I'm not sure what this body is and what it's involvement in these events comprises. Thanks for any help!

recruitment/ promotion committee

the committee promoted , made publicity for the university among potential students so it carried out a kind of recruitment activity
Peer comment(s):

agree Sheila Wilson : They have events all round France to give info - this student was a member of the team

neutral Adam Warren : "promotion" refers to a graduation year. So perhaps it's a committee that addresses graduates, particularly current-yar or recent ones. hth Regards Adam.

events committee

just a thought, based on British student union committees
Peer comment(s):

agree LM Loh : Yes, as it's a student's CV, it would seem appropriate here//ok for the "committee" part but perhaps need to elaborate on the "events"?

neutral Julie Barber : it reads to me as if they are promoting the university itself at a variety of 'fairs' (salons)

in view of canaria's suggestion, I think committee would be better. Hence publicity committee, marketing and PR committee etc. Credit should go to canaria.
Peer comment(s):

agree Julie Barber : your answer and Canaria's are different. Organising event and marketing/PR are different things....I thought that it might relate to marketing the University itself(?)\forgot to add that I do actually agree with your answer!

Yes, I see what you're saying and I do think it relates to the promotion and marketing of the Uni. Maybe he's in a committee that's involved in promoting the Uni at these fairs?
