The Origin of Evil
Other accounts, closer to the biblical one, suggest that the Devil and his demons were once angels of God. The Devil, however, tried to rebel, and, in response, God opened up the Heavens so that he might fall to the earth. Fearing that Heaven might be voided, the archangel Michael re-sealed it, thus freezing the demons that had not yet fallen to hell in place. This is related to the concept of soul customs, where every soul is intercepted on its way to Heaven by these demons, who force it into hell. It has also given rise to the Romanian saying până ajungi la Dumnezeu, te mănâncă sfinţii (before you reach God, the saints will eat you).[3]

THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS - The "Random House Dictionary of Popular Proverbs and Sayings" by Gregory Y. Titelman (Random House, New York, 1996) shows this phrase as a variation of "God is in the details - Whatever one does should be done thoroughly; details are important. The saying is generally attributed to Gustave Flaubert (1821-80), who is often quoted as saying, 'Le bon Dieu est dans le detail' (God is in the details). Other attributions include Michelangelo, the architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, and the art historian Aby Warburg. 'The Devil is in the details' is a variant of the proverb, referring to a catch hidden in the details. 'Governing is in the details''and 'The truth, if it exists, is in the details' are recent variants. Listed as an anonymous saying in the sixteenth edition of Barlett's 'Familiar Quotations,' edited by Justin Kaplan."

Deci, trecand cu vederea unele amanunte, aparent nesemnificative, putem cadea in capcana. Un proiect poate esua fiindca nu au fost luate in calcul toate detaliile importante. Acum, in functie de context, se pot gasi alte expresii in limba romana: a se impiedica de un amanunt, a nu lua in calcul toate amanuntele/implicatiile, a nesocoti/a scapa din vedere detaliile, e de-ajuns un fleac pentru a strica totul....
Apoi, exista o multime de expresii cu sensul "aparentele insala" (ideea de baza este ca vedem ansamblul, care este bun, dar nu cunoastem dedesubturile, amanuntele).
Daca trebuie subliniata si componenta "diabolica" a expresiei este mai dificil... Dracul isi vâră coada in cele mai mici lucruri... E greu fara context!

cf DEX: Si-a băgat (sau si-a amestecat) dracul coada, se zice când o situaţie care părea clară se complică dintr-o dată, capătă o evoluţie neasteptată.
