Fara context, si fiindca se doreste diferentierea intre cele doua, disjunctor -> protejeaza echipamentul impotriva variatiilor de curent. Echivalentul in aplicatiile rezidentiale este siguranta.
Intrerupatorul, diferentiat de disjunctor / siguranta este "disconnect switch".
