19.2 Control Strategy Description

The ammonia product control strategy features two operating modes, “Warm” and “Cold” mode. The production modes and destination are as described above.

The DCS selector “Cold/Warm Ammonia Production Mode selector switch”, 1-HS-11908, is used to dynamically switch the control strategy from Cold to Warm and vice versa, by allowing specific controllers into operation and aligning properly the required control valves.

The Inactive Controllers (Cold Controller if Warm mode is selected or Warm controllers if Cold mode is selected) should be locked in MAN / Initialization mode, with its output tracking the position of their respective control valves.
